A route to help for young people online
Designing a clearer response when young people need help with an online safety incident.
Context
At the 2026 Singapore Youth Policy Competition, my team developed the Youth Digital Safety Pathways Framework and placed First Runner-Up. We focused on what happens between recognising a problem and getting the right help.
My role
I contributed to the team proposal and helped work through how a school-based route for triage could fit alongside the roles of platforms and other organisations.
Approach
The team mapped possible routes for escalation and considered what schools could handle, when a platform needed to act and which cases would need a referral. We framed the proposal as a pilot so implementation questions could be tested.
Evidence
The illustration is an original diagram of the case theme. I shared the result in my competition reflection on LinkedIn.
What I learnt
A reporting route needs clear ownership at each handover, especially when an issue moves between a school and a platform.
